Engineering Physics Department

The total area of Physics lab is 200 meter-sq so as to fulfill the AICTE norm. The department is provided with a black board and desks for giving instructions to the students. It is also provided with an Optics lab. of area 10 meter-sq for performing the experiments like diffraction of laser beam, which employ monochromatic light beam. For H.O.D. and staff separate cabins have been provided within the area of 10 meter-sq. The lab is well equipped with following major equipments.

Shri. V. M. Bhumannaver, Miss. L. B. Kankanawadi are teaching faculties in the department. Mr G B Doddagoudar (B.Sc.), Instructor and shri. M. S. Badakar Helper are also well experienced non-teaching staff in the department. The strength of the students in each batch is normally 15 and for each student separate experimental set up will be provided for performing the experiment. For keeping bags or other materials, racks have been provided. For each student lab manual will be provided in the beginning of the semester. The continuous assessment of lab. performance of each student will be carried out every week after successful completion of an experiment. At the end of the semester an internal lab test and viva-voce will be conducted. Based on attendance performance through out the semester, performance in the continuous evaluation process and internal lab test and viva-voce conducted at the end of the semester, a student will be awarded the lab. internal marks out of 25. The result of the students in the VTU examinations in the subjects of "Engg. Physics" and "Engg. Physics Lab." are analysed to be more than 90% for the last three years.

Engineering Chemistry Department

The Hirasugar Institute Of Technology was started in the year 1996 by S.J.P.N. Trust incorporating Department of Engg. Chemistry as one of the basic applied science department. The major activity was to build up infrastructure for laboratory work in chemistry and staff members. The laboratory and classrooms were shifted in the new building in the year 2004. The laboratory and classrooms are provided as per A.I.C.T.E. norms. The lab area is 20o meter-sq and two class rooms (70 meter-sq each). Four working tables measuring 20'9"x 5'8" with ceramic tile surface racks, gas and water, electricity HT Power line are provided, procurement of laboratory equipments, glassware's and chemicals has been as per the V.T.U. syllabus spending about Rs 9 Lacs. Computer facility, charts, special instruction room, preparation room , HOD and staffroom are incorporated. Ventilation and sufficient light , fans, fire extinguisher's , glass board are used in the lab and class rooms . Lab experiments are conducted in accordance with prescribed syllabus.

Academic Achievements

The result of students in Engg.Chemistry in B.E. I/II semester every year is about 80%. It was 96.4% in the year 2008. Three internal assessment tests are conducted. Assignments are given and checked after submission. Lab test is conducted, students counseling is done for their better improvement of result. Letters are sent to parents, student's feedback is taken.

Engineering Mathematics Department

In a sprawling area our college is located having well equipped infrastructure, in which Mathematics department is housed with the basic requirements.
The reputation & quality of teaching of any college depends upon the faculty members. The faculty members are the life line for the students. Therefore our staff has their own conspicuous commitment. The needs of the students have been constantly attended to with the skill, strategy and with their own pedagogy.
The faculty members are highly experienced and have been teaching using practically viable students centerd techniques by referring to the authoritative books of mathematics.

Language Department

The Department of Humanities/Language was established in 1996. This department was established with a view to consolidating basics of English language. The courses have been designed to strengthen the fundamental principles to enable the students comprehend the core engineering subjects. As part of English language teaching, life skills are imparted enabling the students to improve their marketability and employability. The department has a well established multimedia language lab with advanced licensed software to equip the students to be effective communicators. HIT-Nidasoshi lays emphasis on activity based learning process to expose the students to the nuances of the language.
The faculty members are highly experienced and have been teaching using practically viable students centerd techniques by referring to the authoritative books of language & communication.
