Engineering Physics Department
The Department of Physics has come into existence since the inception of the Institute. The department is involved in teaching the Engineering Physics Theory and Laboratory courses to the students of different Engineering disciplines. Physics is an attempt to understand natural phenomenon, to seek common pattern in diverse situations, to see how the same laws of nature apply in different context. The Department staffs are highly qualified and well experienced in teaching. The total area of Engineering Physics Lab is 200 square meter so as to fulfill the AICTE norm. Six working tables measuring 4 feet x 8 feet, sufficient light, ventilation, fans, computer and battery backup (1 kilowatt UPS) facilities are incorporated in the Engineering Physics Lab. Department is also have Library facility for the first year students. Department is also provided with Optics Lab and separate cabin for HOD and staff.
Engineering Chemistry Department
Department of Chemistry was established in the year 1996 as a supporting department to other programs. The laboratory and classrooms are provided as per A.I.C.T.E. norms. The lab area is 200 Square Meter and two class rooms with 70 Square Meter each. Four working tables measuring 20'9"x 5'8" with ceramic tile surface racks, gas and water, electrical lines are provided to work with instruments. Laboratory is well equiped with the instruments, glassware's and chemicals as per the V.T.U. curriculum with spending about Rs 13.84 lakhs. Department is associated with the facilities like charts, special instruction room, preparation room are supportive for the conduction of experiments. Department is fully ventilated with air, sufficient light, fans and fire extinguisher's are for safety. Lab experiments are conducted in accordance with prescribed syllabus. The faculty members are actively involved in Teaching and research. The Chemistry department is recognized as a research center from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi in the year 2018 and offers Ph.D. The major research areas are Reaction Kinetics & Mechanism, Adsorption kinetics, Environmental Chemistry, Water treatment, catalysis, Ionic liquids and Organics synthesis. Faculty members have published a good number of research papers in reputed national and international journals and presented papers in various National / International conferences and seminars.
Engineering Mathematics Department
In a sprawling area our college is located having well equipped infrastructure, in which Mathematics department is housed with the basic requirements.
The reputation & quality of teaching of any college depends upon the faculty members. The faculty members are the life line for the students. Therefore our staff has their own conspicuous commitment. The needs of the students have been constantly attended to with the skill, strategy and with their own pedagogy.
The faculty members are highly experienced and have been teaching using practically viable students centerd techniques by referring to the authoritative books of mathematics.
Language Department
The Department of Humanities/Language was established in 1996. This department was established with a view to consolidating basics of English language. The courses have been designed to strengthen the fundamental principles to enable the students comprehend the core engineering subjects. As part of English language teaching, life skills are imparted enabling the students to improve their marketability and employability. The department has a well established multimedia language lab with advanced licensed software to equip the students to be effective communicators. HIT-Nidasoshi lays emphasis on activity based learning process to expose the students to the nuances of the language.
